Drum-like cylinder with pine tree and crane  - Slate green semi-translucent jade with reddish suffusion (probably artfully applied).
- Crane holds the trunk of the tree in its mouth.
- It's a bit of a stretch to call the bird a crane, Â but it is a common pairing.
- The coloring is quite beautiful - particularly on the bottom. Â
- The small circles which ring the top and bottom of the cylinder (or drum) are odd. Just decorative?
- Object may have been a massive paperweight for the scholar's desk.
- 12 x 4.9 x 9.19 cm.
