Bull shaped plaque with goat-like horns - Clear, translucent green jade with slight reddish cast, calcification  in wrinkled skin
- Plaque is nicely tapered in cross-section;
- Carved details are executed in low relief
- 3 pieces of surface decoration are incised with shallow cuts
- Animal has a powerful, fearsome look with that hump, although pose may suggest it is lying down with its head on the front legs
- The animal face borrows heavily from the traditional beast face or tao tieh
- Although the carving stands nicely on its feet, it has plenty of through holes for suspension; seems too heavy to be a pendant, however
- Age is uncertain: Song to Ming
- 11 x 5.5 x .8 cm
