Monster with semi-human face  - Green semi-opaque jade with light pitting and brown glaze.Â
- Carved in high relief - has shield on back with grains in a basket weave pattern.Â
- Monster appears to have a more or less human head, horns of a ram, wings and tail of a bird, and elephantine legs.
- A fairly substantial carving it stands nicely; there is no suspension hole.
- It's a mystery as to who could relate to this thing!Â
- Style of grains suggests a Zhou creation.Â
- 11.3 x 4.7 x 3.9 cm.Â
