Light green jade eagle, wings open, grasping a human heads in each talon. Yang, Boda in Zhongguo Yuqi Quanji , 2005, vol. I, p. 182 identifies an almost identical jade as Shang.  - To the left and right of the eagle's head are smaller, indistinct birds.
- The wings and talons are splayed left and right; wingtips reach below the open talons.
- Each talon grasps an outward looking human head; below each head is a downflowing flourish suggesting facial hair.
- The heads are joined by a shield or emblematic device (which also strengthens that part of the carving).
- Entire outline of the carving is worked with a raised line to emphasize the shape.
- Carving includes several pierced areas which create boundaries for the individual elements.
- Surface is decorated with medium fine thread relief: some decorative, some naturalistic (ie. delineating body elements).
- A grey-white skin covers most of the surface, along with soil rust and red suffusion.
- The jade slab is slightly oval in cross-section from side to side, typical of this period, which feels right in the hand.
- Â 8.9 x 5.5 x .6 cm
