Bird of Pray with massive beak and horns - Light green translucent jade with reddish tinge and calcification; surface erosion overall
- Two tapered holes on top for suspension
- Medium fine thread relief, well executed and raised above the surface
- The wings are delineated by threads that run the entire back of the bird - an odd, coat-like effect that mostly obscures the tail feathers which stick out below
- On top there are two substantial 'rams horns' curling down the side of the head. Between the horns is a crest that falls down the neck.Â
- The breast is covered with a lattice work of thread relief - very regular and somewhat mechanical in appearance
- This chunky little carving is definitely three dimensional, not exactly realistic, but rather imposing and weighty.Â
- 5 x 2.8 x 2.5 cmÂ
