Circular dragon with upturned nose and curled tail - Green slightly translucent jade altered to reddish brown in places.
- Extensive calcification, surface rust and pitting.
- A serrated ridge goes down the back of the dragon; the tail splits and lies on both sides of the feet.
- Back and tail are decorated with a diamond pattern of incised cuts; eyes and ears are done in relief.
- Mostly flat carving is nicely tapered at the edges helping to suggest a solid animal.
- In nany ways this piece is a small rendition of the Shang dragons 3, 4 and 5 reduced in size and scale.
- Kelvin says, SungDy style.
- 5.18 x 3.91 x 1.1 cm
