Face with open mouth - Translucent jade mostly converted to opaque red with much surface damage and calcification.
- Carving is mostly in relief, no obvious decoration, and consists mostly of long cuts.
- There are two suspension holes on the top of the head.
- The back is flat with deep arcing grooves; this piece appears to be a reuse of an earlier carved jade which had a ribbed side.
- The tortured appearance of the face is compelling.
- Hongshan style.
- Â 8.91 x 7.88 x 2.02 cm.
