Circular dragon with diamond eye - Dark green semi-translucent jade with reddish infusion and surface damage.
- Decoration consists of thick double incised line faux relief.
- The ridges on the sloped lines do not always follow the cut - impossible on old style jade.
- The head and mouth are crudely outlined - usually the work, if done, is of much better quality.
- Slightly tapered at outer edges of the dragon's back - nice touch.
- Slots in the 'flange' are sawn - usually they would be narrower and created with drilling.
- The surface 'aging' looks artificial - as if painted on. The edges are unnaturally sharp and defined; distribution is wierd.
- 6.98 dia x .66 cm
 Unconvincing modern reproduction.   |
