Shang style crouching tiger

Light translucent jade with suffusion and surface erosion.
No pitting, no calcification.
Slanting, double incised lines lack ridges on slanting sides.
Surface 'aging' appears painted on - notice sharp border lines all over; unnatural looking.
'Suffusion' does not appear to penetrate much, does not follow crack or fissure lines.
9.02 x 3.5 x 1.44 cm.

I really hoped this jade had some age on it, but the above close inspection convinces me otherwise. And, I suppose it's not a

coincidence, it is quite similar to the tigers from Fu Hao's famous tomb. On the plus side this is a nicely carved animal, the

jade is good quality, and the shape is appealing. Oh well.
