Bi disk with dragons, phoenix, and face - Light green (now honey colored)Â semi-opaque jade with yellow suffusion and calcification.
- Carving uses a lot of slanting incised lines; the decoration is mostly deeply cut incised lines.
- The jade has suffered quite a bit from aggressive cleaning.
- I have wondered whether the incised carving might be a later addition to the original carving, but that is not clear.
- The central bird medallion is arresting; it has a sort of Gorgon appearance.
- The style seems to be late Han or 6 dynasties.
- 23.7 x 18 x .59 cm.
