Oval snake plaque with human head  - Translucent white jade with traces of calcification; aggressively cleaned.
- Pickled skin and pitting evident in recesses.
- Hair on top of head (and behind) finely delineated.
- Plaque is quite flat but slanting line carving gives impression of relief -and even feels that way in the hand.
- Similar to a famous Zhou find from 7th C BCE - v. Rawson, Chinese Jade, 1995, fig. 8b, p 24. and Pictorial Handbook of Ancient Chinese Jades, 2007, p. 206.
